LEADING FAMILY CRUISES

Family Fun Cruises for the Entire Family

Family Fun Cruises for the Entire Family

Disney cruises are a family-friendly option for a vacation at sea. Familiar Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck accompany travelers to various destinations in Europe, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. These voyages offer activities for children, teenagers and adults. Children and teenagers can enjoy themselves in supervised areas while adults have access to exclusive areas of the ship.

Fun for the Whole Family

Goofy’s Pool on the top deck of the ship is a family-friendly pool where Disney characters perform and a screen shows Disney movies. Disney characters and crew members also host games throughout the day for children and parents. For drier fun, families can head to Studio Sea on Deck 4 for activities such as game shows, dancing, trivia and karaoke. On-board theaters feature live, Disney-themed performances daily. Shows include a welcoming performance, Toy Story musical and an interpretation of Cinderella. Performances vary by cruise, but you can check the daily newsletter that is delivered to your room each morning to determine what performances will be held that day.

Adults-Only Activities

Disney cruises feature several activities and ship areas that are strictly for adults. A nursery is available for young children, and children’s areas are designed to allow children to enjoy themselves in a safe and supervised environment while parents enjoy other areas of the ship. Quiet Cove Pool is located on Deck 9 and is open from 8 a.m. until midnight. This area is only open to guests 18 years of age or older and, as the name implies, typically provides a quieter atmosphere than the all-ages pools. Another adults-only area is the Vista Spa and Salon on Deck 9, which offers manicures, facials, massages, teeth-whitening and hairstyling. An adults-only restaurant, Palo, serves alcoholic beverages and Italian food while guests are surrounded by a panoramic ocean view. Some ships also offer bars, nightclubs and piano lounges for adults to relax in.

Children and Teen Activities

Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are designed for children between the ages of 3 and 12. These areas are supervised by trained counselors who are responsible for maintaining the safety of the children. A variety of themed activities are offered to keep children entertained, including a sleepover with Goofy and pirate instruction from Captain Hook. These areas are open daily from 9 a.m. until midnight.

Teenagers between ages 13 and 17 are welcome in special areas tailored toward teen interests. These areas are also supervised, though the staff joins in the activities. For teenagers, Disney cruises offer karaoke, trivia, dance parties and video games. Teen-exclusive areas also have bars that serve soda, smoothies and other non-alcoholic beverages.
